I found myself in Chile, living in a beautiful city and with a lovely job that I really enjoyed but there was something wrong. As I walked through this beautiful city it felt like I should be somewhere else. I realized that unfortunately my heart wasn’t in it anymore. I usually see my adjustment in foreign countries as an adventure but this time a bit of the adventure had turned into “work”.

My heart has made it clear that its time for a huge change in my life. I left Chile and went back to the UK from where I planned my next move.

I like the photos and the thoughts on Santiago. I’m moving there in August, 2017, from Cajamarca, Peru. So, thank you! I know that it’s labor-intensive to … take photos, edit photos, post photos, etc. And on top of that, simply write! it’s all much appreciated.

I felt very similarly about Bogota! After living there for a year the efforts to integrate just didn’t seem to pay off. I wasn’t learning anymore, just struggling, and that’s when I knew I had to leave. The street art in South America is incredible, though!

Good luck Janaline! I hope you continue your blog, you’ve inspired me in many ways in writing mine. The graffiti is something I’m noticing more and more now, it’s worth going to not so nice neighborhoods to catalog some of it. And how it changes as well! Walls get painted over in months with new artwork.
