Where Have I Been? My Journey from Travel to Healing

I haven’t posted on this blog for a while. For those of you following my travel adventures, you may have wondered where I’ve been! Like many, COVID-19 changed the course of my life, keeping us grounded and unable to travel. But beyond that, I’ve been busy making some monumental life changes.

In 2018, I moved to Shanghai, where I discovered something truly transformative—art therapy. I experienced firsthand how art could go beyond expression, tapping into emotions, and helping with healing. By 2020, I knew I wanted to dedicate my career to this powerful field. I took a leap and began pursuing a career in Art Therapy. I wanted to give back to others in a meaningful way.

After relocating to Canada in 2022, I completed my Art Therapy diploma at the Vancouver Art Therapy Institute. This was a life-changing experience, merging my lifelong passion for art with my newfound commitment to healing. During my practicum, I had the privilege of working with women and children and witnessed the profound impact art had on their lives. I realized just how powerful it can be for healing and communication.

Art has always been a constant in my life, especially during my personal experiences of grief, trauma, and anxiety. It became my anchor when I faced PTSD and depression. Painting and journaling provided a safe outlet. They allowed me to process my feelings and stay grounded. As someone who has also faced addiction, I am proud to be 5 years sober. This journey has deepened my understanding of healing and strengthened my resolve to help others navigate their own path.

Today, I’m taking another huge leap—this time, into entrepreneurship! I’m excited to announce the launch of my therapeutic art therapy business, Healing Art Journey. I focus on helping women heal from trauma, PTSD, anxiety, and addiction through creative expression. I aim to support particularly women and children. My practice is rooted in the belief that art provides a safe, compassionate space. This space is for exploring difficult emotions. It’s also for growing and finding strength.

As a Therapeutic Art Facilitator, I guide clients through creative activities. These activities help them tap into their inner wisdom and process emotions. They also aid in developing healthier coping mechanisms. My goal is to bridge the worlds of art and healing. I aim to provide a space where people can express themselves and transform their lives.
