Creating Jellyfish from Colourful Swirls

Creating Jellyfish from Colourful Swirls

Ocean, an immersive digital art space was created by Japanese artist Ryotaro Muramatsu and his creative team NAKED, in the Shanghai World Financial Centre. I got to immerse myself in an underwater adventure of lights and colours, a magical world that took me into the wonders of the ocean. My favourite ocean creatures are jellyfish of all kinds and sizes.

Thus, it is no surprise that my favourite part of this immersive show was the colourful watery world of the “Fluid Wall.” In this area, I got to interact with the light mapping by “swirling” the paint on the walls and watching as the paint bubbled into wild-coloured jellyfish that floated away.

NAKED had truly developed something special that kept me enchanted for a couple of hours as I was totally mesmerized by the swirls and colours of this magical world.
