V & A Waterfront, Cape Town

Glimpse of Victoria & Alfred Waterfront

The Victoria & Alfred Waterfront in Cape Town,  is South Africa’s most-visited destination.  It is usually quite crowded, but Sundays are more managable and great for an afternoon of walking aound this harbour with all its shops and restaurants.

  1. I love reading about your African adventures – it reminds me of my honeymoon 🙂 We went to the V&A waterfront as well. We found a place selling some beautiful artwork, which is now hanging on my wall. Fond memories 🙂

  2. I found it was the place everyone went to on a Sunday after walking around a very empty city centre (2008). It’s a lively place and great if you like shopping or even window shopping and a leisurely drink. I remember it well as the original basin where large ships berthed and even saw some friends off to Australia from there in 1974. Nice to see it again Janaline 🙂

    1. I agree, it is quite expensive now. But I feel that most attractions here in South-Africa are now geared towards tourists and are just too expensive for us locals. It is quite sad as we also love doing things and going to the beautiful places this country has to offer.
