This weeks Travel Theme is Roads. I went on a lovely road trip through the Western Cape in South-Africa and here are some shots that shows how drastically the scenery changed after driving just a couple of miles!
Driving down the coast and next to the sand dunes of the Cape coast was amazing. Some places it looked like the beach wanted to take the road back!!
Further South-West along the coast the scenery got a bit rocky but with some funbos vegetation. It was a road trip filled with sunshine and clear blue skies.
While driving through Stellenbosch we had indigenous fynbos vegetation on both sides of the road with the mountains ahead of us. I fell in love with the beautiful Western Cape countryside!!
Although it was December and summer, it is dry season in the Cape region so huge parts of the countryside is brown and dry. It looks like winter to me, I am so used to lush green summers!!
We had to cross a couple of different mountain ranges on our road trip. The weather changed as soon as we started our climb up the mountain and the sky became cloudy for the first time in days!!
